In a tweet by Westlife’s official account, the group have confirmed that their shows scheduled for June and July “must be cancelled”.


The group were due to appear in the Castle Park on Saturday 11th July as part of their “All the Hits Tour”.


The tweet continues “Those who have been on the Westlife Journey with us know how important performing is to us but also know that safety music come first”


The 2020 tour which was due to come to Colchester on the 11th July would have seen the global pop kings perform all of their greatest hits including Swear It Again, Flying Without Wings and You Raise Me Up as well as sensational up-tempo songs from their forthcoming new album Spectrum.


The promoters are currently working with their ticketing partners to issue refunds.


The message from the group is to “stay home, stay safe and keep playing your part in fighting to spread of this virus”
