With it fast approaching wedding season and couples making extensive plans, a keen eye will be on if these weddings will take place as arranged. Essex County Council have released an update via Twitter:

“We are currently experiencing extremely high call volumes from our residents who are concerned about their imminent Ceremonies. At this stage Essex County Council has not cancelled any ceremonies.”

“We advise you to contact your Wedding Venue for further guidance. Currently, we are unable to take bookings for future wedding ceremonies until the 1st of April. Please consult gov.uk for guidance on social gatherings.”

“For the latest updates about our services, please visit essex.gov.uk/coronavirus. The situation is constantly changing and we are updating information as soon as possible. We’d like to remind you to follow official guidance and thank you for your patience and support at this time.”

Your first port of call is your wedding venue who will be able to assist, however the situation in the short term is very uncertain.
