Colchester Borough Council’s Community Response Team have been hard at work supporting organisations across the borough, helping them to adapt the way they work and continue to deliver their much-loved community services. Dale Sainty, who runs the Greenstead Filling Station Cafe has set up a not-for-profit ‘meals on wheels’ service, so that Greenstead residents are able to get hot meals daily.

The Community Response Team connected Dale with a volunteer from The University of Essex who is now helping to make contactless deliveries in Greenstead and supported him to set up the secure payment process and advertise the service locally.

Dale now provides 10-12 two-course meals every day at £6.50 for two-courses, to order call 07967 550167.

Deliveries to the Greenstead area only.

Colchester Borough Council representatives offer a big thank you to Dale and his team for keeping this valuable community service running at such a difficult time.
